A site that runs hard from six in the morning until three in the afternoon is a very different proposition to one that peaks at eight at night, even if the two buildings are identical. Demand charges, tariff structure, shift patterns and seasonal load all move the answer, and none of them are visible from a satellite photo of the roof.
So we work from interval data. If your retailer can supply it, that plus a site visit gets you a design and a number you can put in front of a board. If the numbers do not work on your site, we would rather say so early.
What we ask for up front
- Twelve months of interval data, or the closest you can get to it.
- Your current tariff, including demand charges and any time-of-use windows.
- Roof or ground area, structure type, and the age of the switchboard.
- Which loads must survive an outage, and for how long.
- Whether the site is likely to electrify further — fleet charging, process heat, refrigeration.
